What We Believe

We are an independent body of believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the authority of the Bible. Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant (accurate) Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit; three persons, yet one God. Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-2; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Peter 1:2

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin. We further believe that Christ was crucified, died, and rose on the third day. Matthew 1:18-19; Acts 2:23-24; 1 Corinthians 15:20-26

We believe that all people are created in the image of God. Genesis 1:26

We believe that all people sin which separates them from God and consequently, they all need salvation. Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23

We believe that God made the way for all people to have eternal life (salvation) through His son Jesus Christ. We further believe that the divinity of Jesus Christ is the fundamental truth of Christianity (our faith) and that Jesus is the only way for anyone to be with God in Heaven. John 3:16; John 14:6

We believe that:

God calls us. Romans 8:30; 1 Timothy 6:12

God enables us to come to Him. John 6:44; Acts 16:14

God provides us salvation through the atoning sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ which justifies (makes right) the believer before God. Romans 3:22-25

God covers our sin and gives us Jesus’ righteousness as our own. Romans 1:17; 2 Corinthians 5:21

God gives us eternal life. John 3:16

In response to God’s gift of grace to us:

We put our faith (trust) in Jesus Christ. Romans 3:22; Romans 5:1-2

We repent (turn away from) our sin and go toward God. Acts 2:38; 2 Corinthians 7:9-10

We confess Jesus’ name before other people. Romans 10:9

We are baptized (immersed) into Christ. John 3:5; Romans 6:2-3; Galatians 3:27

We believe that, in salvation, followers of Jesus are indwelled by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit:

Convicts us of sin. John 16:8

Guides us into all truth. John 16:13

Sanctifies followers of Jesus (grows us in likeness to Jesus). 2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Thessalonians 2:13

Gives us spiritual gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:7

Presence and activity in the believer’s life guarantees our salvation. Ephesians 1:14

We believe that we have been charged by Jesus Christ with a Great Commission to carry the Good News of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 13:10

We believe in open Communion and make it available to all believers on a weekly basis. Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-25

We believe in the unity of believers based on the authority of Christ and God’s Holy Scriptures. Ephesians 4:3-6,11-13

We believe that Jesus will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-1

What We Practice

Beliefs are not worth much unless they are translated into actions. Based on what the Bible teaches, we believe that each and every person is a unique child of God. We further believe that we can make a difference in the life of our church by teaching and discipling believers to be different in the following areas of life.

Personal Study

We believe that fully developed Christians do not just “happen.” They develop through knowledge of God’s word and a personal relationship with God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ.

We believe that Christian parents raise Christian children and special efforts must be made to teach God’s principles about family living.

We believe that the excitement of living for Jesus Christ is enhanced through friends who share a life in Christ.

Touching Our Community

We believe that we have the joy of being God’s representatives to touch the lives of the non-churched. We seek to encourage and equip believers in making disciples from among our family, friends, and business acquaintances.

Reaching Our World

We believe that we have been called to make a difference throughout the world by our church’s active involvement in world mission service and support.
